This really belongs over at http://phoneticsmellings.com, but I’m choosing to post it here, for no real reason.

Mini burgers are all the rage, and great for a 4th of July barbecue, or any time you’re having a bunch of people over. They cook fast, so you can get something in hungry peoples stomachs quickly, make more if need be, and even hold on to them if you don’t end up using it all. It’s also great for the inevitable “I’m craving a burger, but watching my red meat intake, so I don’t want to eat a whole one” guest.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef. (80% lean is best, but you can use leaner if you like, just note the special instructions)
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 tablespoon total of mustard or hot sauce (or 1/2 tablespoon of each)
2 cloves well minced garlic (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon teriaki sauce
1/4 teaspoon savory
1/4 teaspoon dill
1/4 teaspoon pepper
12 pack King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

What do I do with it?

Mix it all up. If you chose to use extra lean ground beef, you’ll want to add about 2 tablespoons of fresh bread crumbs to the mix. The best method is in a big bowl, digging in with your hands getting them nice and dirty. If you’re afraid of gunk, throwing it all in a gallon Ziplock bag and mashing it through the protective plastic works, and keeps you safe from amoebas.

Mash out (or roll out) the well mixed beef mixture into a rectangle a little bit larger than the size and shape of that 12-pack of rolls. They will be fairly thin, and don’t be surprised if they aren’t as “firm” as the burgers you usually make. Blame the egg for it, but note that they’ll cook up perfectly fine. Chop it up into 12 small burgers, and throw on the grill for about 3 minutes each side. They don’t take long, and try not to move them until its time to flip! With these burgers, you don’t even need any fixins, they’ll be nice and juicy and already seasoned, but some grilled onions go nicely with it, if you must.

Have a happy fourth of July everyone!

I came up with a saying… “I trust in God for most things, and for everything else, i trust Google.”

That being said, here’s a list of a few ways to a kill an hour or two of your time with google. These are just a couple of links, but they’re well worth your time… I promise.

John McCains politics:

random September 19th, 2008

John McCain (today): “Barack Obama’s campaign took a donation from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and now they’re out of business”

Educated voter: “But, John McCain has received donations in Florida from people who have outright said that they donated nothing, and would donate nothing. In some cases, they were even ineligible to donate. Names were pulled out of a hat so that donations larger than the $2300 could be made to John McCain from one person. This practice is illegal”

——————-

John McCain (July, 2008): “Look, I know the area, I’ve been there, I know wars, I know how to win wars, and I know how to improve our capabilities so that we will capture Osama bin Laden — or put it this way, bring him to justice… We will do it, I know how to do it.”

Me: And you won’t share this with us unless we elect you, I’m guessing.

——————-

John McCain (24 times since January): The fundamentals of our economy are strong.

John McCain (Yesterday): Oh, that’s not what I meant to say 24 times, I meant to say that the American People are some of the hardest workers in the world. That’s what I meant by the fundamentals of our economy. The people. I just misspoke at least 24 times.

——————-

John McCain(30 seconds ago): [Obama's] tax increase is the surest way to bring about a recession and will increase the burden on middle class Americans.

Financial Analysts: Analysts say Obama offers three times the tax break for middle class

——————-

John McCain(30 seconds ago): Obama has voted in the past to raise taxes for someone making just $42,000 a year.

Truth: This is only true if he’s talking about a single person that does not qualify for anything more than the standard exemption… and the annual tax increase would be just over $15. If that same person made $58,000, the increase would be $30. If that person had a child, they would not be “burdened” with that $15 dollar increase until they made $58,600. A family of four would have a $30 tax increase if they made $90,000 or more.

I am sick of seeing lies and mistruths spread all over the airwaves. He can not make a speach or an ad unless it is to support some sort of bull that his campaign has decided to spread. When even Karl Rove calls you a liar.. you have problems

Well the title says it all. I’ve been to many many sites that take upwards of 15 seconds to load, and not to my surprise, half of the content is affiliate links. Now, I have nothing against putting ads on your blog. You deserve to make a few bucks for being a helpful contributor to this wonderful thing we have called the worldwide web. I’ll tell you what though: I’m not going to read your fricking site if it takes a year and a half to load!

I’ve decided to take a different approach to my advertising model, and I suggest that others do the same. I have decided to hand pick what I’m promoting, and only promote services that I have used before and personally like. I’ve also chosen to forget about the flash style ads (such as widgetbucks) in the interest of having a faster loading page. I’ve also ditched the full-page browser hijacking ads that everyone despises so much. It’s just not worth the half-a-cent-per-visitor revenue that I earn.

That being said, here are the two products I’ve chosen to promote for now, and a bit about each of them. Note: One offers a free trial, and the other actually MAKES you money, so they are worth checking out.

The first is PayPerPost, where you basically get paid to blog. There are hundreds of topics for you to choose from, and they generally pay anywhere from 5 to 20 dollars per post, with what I believe is a limit of 3 posts per day. This is great for someone who has a blog about random topics, a “how to make money” blog, or a personal blog. I used this for a quite a while, and made some nice extra cash from it. Payout is pretty fast, too, only takes 30 days if my memory serves me right.

The second is great for anybody who has clients. I do mean ANYBODY with clients. There are tons of anti-spam laws, and HIPAA regulations and so on that are hard to keep up with regarding mass e-mails. This takes care of everything for you, and lets you keep in contact with your clients for whatever purpose. If you’re announcing a new product, or a new sale, sending out a mass e-mail to anyone who has chosen to receive updates from you is a great way to get the word out. It lets you target the people who you already KNOW are interested in your company. Beats the heck out of sending 5000 postcards and hoping someone reads it! Constant Contact, an Email List Management Tool lets you try it out for 60 days to see if it does everything you hope, and they don’t require a credit card or anything like that… they aren’t going to bill you if you forget to cancel.

I just redid my Wordle cloud, and it looks quite different. It’s amazing what changes in half a year. Enjoy?

Not very useful, but pretty cool looking. It takes your RSS feed and generates a tag cloud for you. There are tons of different settings, so you can make it look however you want. If you prefer, you can just give it a list of words and it will generate the cloud using those. There really is no point to this thing… but it sure is fun .
